Vivienne Westwood
In my Fashion Illustration class, I was assigned to design a collection that pays tribute to a legendary fashion designer. I created a collection inspired by Vivienne Westwood, drawing from her rebellious approach to fashion, unconventional tailoring, and iconic use of plaid and mixed prints. I wanted to capture her punk-inspired aesthetic while incorporating my own interpretation through bold pattern combinations and feminine silhouettes.
I incorporated these influences into modern looks by combining structured blazers, corsetry, and dramatic mermaid skirts with layered ruffles and asymmetrical detailing. I used wool-blend suiting, cotton twill, cotton poplin, and viscose twill to balance tailored structure with soft, flowing elements. Through contrasting plaids, leopard print, and exaggerated proportions, I aimed to reflect Westwood's spirit of challenging traditional fashion while establishing my own design perspective.
